My last art project. I'm trying to get two birds with one stone and use it for a presentation for my hum260 utopian studies class, as well as trying to fit the criteria for my art class. It's not easy. There's a long way to go, but here's my progress so far. I started off with a manikin head, then put clay all around it, then added features to her. Changed her nose, position of the mouth, gave her more of a jaw line, longer chin (I used my own face to give her less manikin appearances). It took a lot of work, and was a lot of fun actually. Maybe I should give up teaching and design prosthetic limbs...? Prosthetic faces? Anyway. I have lots of goals for this piece, which should entail more than just her face. But it's a naturalistic, nature-based theme. We all came from the same dust, and so essentially we need to respect all of it. From a kind of First Nations perspective, also a vegetarian kind of perspective because I just did a paper on that which caused me to avoid meat for a while. Anyway, half her head is made of leaves, which is part of the whole environmental message. More to see. It's gotta be done before next Tuesday, so. Fairly soon.
In other news, 7 days left of classes. Lost sucks, but I'll watch it till the end. I'm registered for summer classes. Spent a long weekend in the city of Lloydminster, playing board games, eating a turkey dinner. I went quadding. I brought the cutest puppy home for my mom. Been on the motorcycle twice. The weather is good. Bed time!
