Potential.
I watched a video on Ecological Design. I considered making a blog post out of that entire green discussion but then decided against it. Out of the many different things that struck me about the video, the least thing that had to do with green living was when one of the inventors/biologists/architects said something along the lines of "We are all born into the world with out own potential, and I believe it is our duty to figure out what it is and explore and fulfill it to its highest degree."
Often times in my life I have seen people with a lot of potential. I think to myself, wow, if they put their heart into it, they could really be something. Or I shake my head and say "so much wasted potential."
I don't think I have lived my life to the fullest potential. I've never considered myself to be a particularly driven person at anything. I am semi-good at a handful of things, but have never been exceptional at anything. I don't consider myself, to any degree, to be one of those people that other people look at and say "wow, that girl has a lot of potential." But this guy on the Ecological Design video got me thinking about things like potentials. The first thing I think of is physics, but then physics was so long ago I don't really remember exactly what it hooks onto according to physics. I think it's something having to do with energy. Potential energy for dropping a pen off of my desk, maybe. I think we're all that pen. I wonder what makes those few people jump off the desk. Or get pushed off the desk. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually perfectly happy with most aspects of my life. I have a cold, and my back hurts, and I'm really worried about not getting into Education and if I don't what the next step will be. But I'm happy. Maybe if we were all living to our highest potential, doing what our minds and bodies were programmed/the best at, it would be an overload to humanity as a whole.
Afterall, it is those who are weak in the mind and slow to move that create what we might call mainstream society. Those who have no apparent potential. Well I haven't thought long enough on this to come up with a witty conclusion. So I guess that's it for tonight.
