I've never taught at this time of year. My journey through my first year "out" has been elating and condemning simultaneously.

Thirty is the new twenty, I've told my students, and they laugh politely.

At times I think to myself that I truly have chosen the best career, and other times, that occur a bit too often for comfort. But it's your first year, and Kids will be kids, and what not, so there's that.

I am yearning for summer. I don't blame my students for being restless; I, too, am restless. Just because I've finished school, own a house, and have been married for four years, doesn't mean it's time to stop living.

Dreams of language and travel, art and writing, bike-riding and renovations, camping and visiting, playing guitar and weeding.
